Prologue: Broken on Alien Soil
The published prologue follows Raven from the ruins of L Corp into Terraria, where a goblin firefight after the Eye of Cthulhu leads to first contact with the player.

- 左侧节点存在时,左侧传送阵继续输送增援;
- 右侧节点存在时,右侧传送阵继续输送增援;
- 切断一侧后,该方向立即停止补兵,残余兵力会向仍开放的一侧集中;
- 这是一场独立局部事件,不占用 Terraria 原版入侵槽位;
- 两条坑道、节点位置与已经切断的路线都会写入世界存档;
- 玩家暂时离开会清理当前事件敌怪,但已经挖出的通道和破坏进度不会消失;
- 多人模式下,地形改动与事件阶段由服务器统一管理;
v1.0.0已公开内容。
Spoiler boundary: This page covers only the prologue and first-contact event already published in
v1.0.0. It does not discuss later resource crises, changes in trust, or any unreleased chapter.
Two Prologue Sequences
The first time a player enters a world, the opening shows the Tree of Light rising from the grey City. R Corp then orders the Fourth Pack into the silent ruins of L Corp to recover samples and records, with Veronica’s Raven detachment assigned to oversee the operation.
When the Eye of Cthulhu is defeated for the first time, the crimson eye comes apart beneath Terraria’s night sky. The wake of its death crosses a world boundary already coming loose and begins bending the recovery team’s route home.
Evacuation from the L Corp Ruins
Rabbits, Reindeer, and Rhinos enter the sealed sector and find that containment has failed. A third-stage Mountain of Smiling Bodies, no longer restrained by the facility’s suppression systems, charges the team. Crossfire and two deliberate corridor collapses buy time, but inflict no measurable damage on its core life signal.
Nikolai terminates the recovery operation. Everyone still able to move retreats toward the W Corp train while Raven personnel carry the recovered records. The Mountain breaks through the debris and vomits highly corrosive black corpse matter at the train, while the doors close on schedule and leave behind those who cannot reach them before the countdown expires.
The train enters the spatial rift. The crossworld wake produced by the Eye overlaps the failed jump, throwing the train and its survivors off the track and down toward a world belonging to no known route: Terraria.
Silence after the Fall
After the jump, Raven cannot resolve its coordinates and every link to R Corp is gone. Reserve power is low; both the cloning protocol and Raven network are offline. Veronica orders an immediate count of survivors and supplies, then activates the total-independence contingency.
The detachment also detects the disappearance of a local high-energy life-sign. The confirmed source is a single humanoid individual—the player. Raven records the target but maintains silence, establishing a temporary surface base near the boundary of the Corruption or Crimson instead of making immediate contact.
Gunfire at the Perimeter
The surface base appears only after the Eye of Cthulhu has been defeated. Once the post-Eye sequence has ended, the player receives a directional message: a dense and disciplined burst of gunfire carries from somewhere across the world.
Approaching the base does not reveal a force on the verge of defeat. Raven soldiers and sentry guns can continue destroying surface goblins with overwhelming firepower. The goblins cannot meaningfully break the line, but replacements keep arriving from both flanks, locking the battle into a stable and endless expenditure.
After several seconds, an unknown transmission identifies the actual problem:
“Surface target density is not falling. Reinforcement vectors originate below the line; access shafts lie beyond both flanks.”
Only then does the encounter reveal its objective: cut off the underground reinforcements.
Why the Player Is Necessary
Raven controls fixed ground through discipline and firepower, but cannot abandon that line to excavate beneath it. The player understands Terraria’s mining and cave movement, and therefore performs the one task Raven cannot replace during this first cooperation.
One permanent tunnel is generated outside each defensive flank. A vertical shaft descends roughly 44 tiles before turning toward a portal chamber beneath the base. Each route ends at a mineable load-bearing brace that also serves as the portal’s control core.
- while the western brace remains, the western portal continues supplying troops;
- while the eastern brace remains, the eastern portal continues supplying troops;
- sealing one route stops its reinforcements immediately and pushes remaining forces toward the open side;
- destroying both braces cuts off the underground supply completely.
The player then returns to the surface and helps Raven clear the final goblins. The encounter is about complementary roles, not a sudden loss of Raven’s combat ability.
Formal First Contact
Once the last wave falls outside the defensive line, the survivors scatter and the disciplined gunfire fades. The guards initially order the player to remain still and lower their weapon; Veronica revokes fire authorization and requests a scan first.
The scan finds no match among known faction signatures. Veronica makes the decisive judgement that ends the current public prologue:
“Log the subject as a local humanoid. Provisional status: non-hostile.”
She orders the player to proceed to the entrance so terms can be established. First contact is marked complete, unlocking the base entrance and guard interaction. The currently published story ends here.
In-Game Rules
- the firefight is a local event and does not occupy Terraria’s vanilla invasion slot;
- tunnel geometry, brace positions, and sealed routes are saved with the world;
- leaving temporarily clears active event enemies, but does not erase excavated tunnels or completed objectives;
- in multiplayer, the server owns terrain changes and encounter progression;
- this page does not present later design-document chapters as content published in
v1.0.0.
